I found flights from Dublin to Milan Bergamo on the 26th of October for just €98- for seven nights! This is about 90 minutes drive from Lake Garda which can be reached by transfer or car.
There are many different resorts to choose from but Peschiera is one of the most popular resorts for a family holiday in Lake Garda. It is located in the southern end of the lake within easy reach of Sirmione and Gardaland. I have some accommodation options to suit all tastes and budgets:
