Best for families in Lisbon – Martinhal Chiado Lisbon (5-Star)
Rating: 9.2/10 | Accommodation type: Rooms & Apartments | Check Rates and Availability | €€€€
I travel a lot on city breaks with my children and usually find apartments the most convenient to stay in. However, I have yet to find city apartments as good for families as Martinhal Chiado. Officially a 5-star hotel, you have all the benefits of self-catering, with the amenities and service of a luxury hotel.
Martinhal Resorts were specifically designed with families in mind and are without a doubt some of best luxury family resorts in Europe. There are two resorts on the Algarve, one in Cascais, as well as Martinhal Chiado in the heart of Lisbon.

The location in Lisbon’s trendy Chiado district is superb – you are right in the centre of Lisbon’s old town and within walking distance to the main square and coast. But it is the spacious apartments and family facilities that set Martinhal Chiado apart from the rest.
There are no sharp edges on the furniture, child steps, potties and even nappy bins in the bathrooms, handy hooks so kids clothes are not left lying around – to say the apartments are well equipped for families is a massive understatement!
Martinhal Chiado has a baby concierge service, so everything from high chairs, to sterilisers and even buggies, can be pre booked in advance. There is a kids club onsite, that also offers evening sessions so you can enjoy a night out in this vibrant city.

The apartments are set in three old listed buildings, and the interiors blend perfectly to give a sophisticated yet understated feel. Rooms are very spacious and there is a selection of room types to choose from, all equipped with every possible child’s need. If you are looking for a luxury stay in Lisbon, that caters exceptionally well for families – look no further.
