Top 20 Baby Friendly Holidays in Europe
From campsites to luxury five star resorts, I’ve hand picked the best places for baby friendly holidays in Europe with baby clubs, curated menus and lots more.
Bringing a baby away for the first time can be a little daunting, no matter how used to travelling you may be. A good self catering apartment in a quiet resort was my personal preference, although a luxury five star hotel complete with crèche and Spa sounds pretty good too! For some, a ferry to France and a stay in a family campsite is the perfect choice, but there is one thing for sure, when it comes to baby friendly holidays, there is no one size fits all.
Top Tips for Booking Baby Friendly Holidays
There are so many different baby friendly holidays to choose from, so it is important to ask yourself what type of holiday you want. It is difficult to find good apartments with a baby club or creche, they tend to be confined to luxury hotels and resorts – so before you splash out your hard earned cash, ask yourself, will I put my precious new born in a crèche? Many parents, particularly new parents never use this facility, and end up paying a premium for facilities they will never use.

It is important to note that some of Europe’s best family hotels are not always the best baby friendly resorts. In most cases hotel kids clubs don’t start until age 3 or 4, and sometimes the entertainment can be geared towards older kids.
Do you really want lively pool games when you are trying to get your toddler to nap by the pool? A soft play area, playground and easy beach access can be more important than kids clubs and water park with slides, depending on the age of your child.
The time of year is important too, some baby clubs and entertainment programmes only operate during summer holidays, and heated pools are not always available during the summer.
The age of your baby or toddler can also influence your decision on where you travel to. In my experience plane journeys for babies under 6 months old are fairly painless. The period when babies are crawling or walking, but not yet easily amused with toys, is a lot trickier!
TOP TIP: Longer flights and shorter airport transfers can be easier with babies than short flights and lengthy bus journeys to your hotel. A lack of car seats is often a concern for parents too, so you will want to avoid long transfers unless you are sure they can be provided. See more of my top tips here:
