1. Lanzarote: Self Catering Apartment, 24th March from €449pp

Lanzarote is Ireland’s most popular destination for winter sun holidays. There are so many great resorts, but I love the old town of Puerto del Carmen – having a drink at one of the waterfront cafes as the sun sets over the harbour is a lovely way to end your day.

I found a great deal in the top-rated Corona apartments which are located within walking distance to the centre and the beach.

2. Tenerife: 5-star Hard Rock Hotel, B&B, 21st January from €747pp

The beachfront Hotel Tenerife is one of the island’s most popular luxury hotels. With three swimming pools, a beach club, spa and fitness centre, as well as a host of dining and entertainment options, this is the place to be seen in Tenerife.

The Gran Oasis Resort is one of the most popular hotels in Tenerife. It receives an Excellent rating on TripAdvisor and was a  Travellers Choice Award Winner last year.

It is located halfway between Los Cristianos and Playa de las Americas, so you have the choice of resorts to visit, and it just 5 minutes away from the beach on the free shuttle bus. Of course all meals and drinks are included in the price, so you may not want to leave…

4. Fuerteventura: Surfing Colors Apartments, 19th February, €424pp

The top-rated Corralejo Surfing Colours apartments are a great choice for some winter sun! Located in the heart of Corralejo, this offers superb value for a stay in one of Fuerteventura’s most popular properties.

I found return flights for just €76 on the 19th of February and a seven-night stay in the Corralejo Surfing Colors hotel is only €348 per person, so you can enjoy a week away for just €424 per person!

5. Lanzarote: 4-Star B&B Aequora Lanzarote Suites, 3rd February from €839pp

Located just five-minutes walk from the beach, the modern Aequora Lanzarote Suites are one of the most popular hotels in Puerto del Carmen. With five outdoor pools and three restaurants – one of which is an adults-only restaurant, you will be spoilt for choice.

This superb hotel is firmly on my own wish list. It is arguably Fuerteventura’s best hotel, and certainly one the best in the Canary Islands. It boasts a wide variety of dining options, three bars and four swimming pools. It also happens to be located on one of the Canary Islands best beaches – it is 25km long. You can also choose to upgrade to all inclusive for an extra €200 per person.
