1. Legend Of The Seas – Royal Caribbean

Legend of the seas New Cruise Ship

Launching: July 2026 Home base for 2026: Summer: Barcelona/Rome Winter: Fort Lauderdale

Royal Caribbean are known for their big, bold, family-friendly cruises, and 2026 will see the arrival of the next Icon Class vessel, Legend of the Seas. The new ship is currently under construction at the Meyer Turku shipyard in Finland. At 250,000 tons, it will be the third Icon Class ship and the sister to Icon of the Seas and Star of the Seas, the world’s largest cruise ships. Legend of the Seas will surely be the cooler, newer sibling with more water slides, more pools and even more thrills.

The name may sound familiar, as Royal Caribbean first introduced a Legend of the Seas back in 1995, later selling it to Marella Cruises, part of the TUI group back in 2016 where it became the Marella Discovery cruise ship. That original vessel was the most widely travelled in the company’s history, and reintroducing the name pays tribute to its legacy.

Legend of the seas will host the largest waterpark at sea, the first open freefall waterslide on a cruise ship, and the Crown’s Edge – a skywalk and rope obstacle course with a daring challenge high above the ocean. Guests can also enjoy seven swimming pools, including Royal Bay and a swim up bar – Swim & Tonic.

Like the rest of the Icon class, the ship will bring a lively atmosphere while introducing new features of its own. Earlier this year, Star of the Seas joined the fleet, continuing Royal Caribbean’s expansion of the Icon class line.
