Top 10 Set Jetting Destinations for 2026
From Sicily to Skopelos, Paris to Petra, we’ve got the top 10 set jetting destinations for 2026
Set jetting is not exactly a new travel trend, people have been flocking to destinations they have seen on TV for years. However, in recent years set jetting or screen tourism has exploded in popularity. 81% of Gen Z and Millennial travellers plan their getaways based on what they’ve seen on screen according to Expedia and Screen Tourism is projected to be worth $110.79 billion by 2028.
It comes as no surprise that tourist boards are investing millions to capitalise on one of the fastest growing travel trends, even our very own Tourism Ireland spent €200,000 recently a marketing campaign built around the hit TV show “Wednesday”, saying that “screen tourism” was one of the biggest sources of travel inspiration to Ireland. Top Set Jetting Destinations in Europe
1. Sicily, Italy: Location of The White Lotus, Season 2

The White Lotus highlights Sicily’s remarkable architecture, refined elegance, and dramatic volcanic scenery, particularly around Taormina, where the historic San Domenico Palace, featured in the series, overlooks the sea.
Taormina itself is a picturesque hilltop town known for its luxurious hotels and sweeping coastal views. I stayed her many years ago and loved people-watching on the lively Corso Umberto, and exploring its gorgeous boutiques, inviting cafés, and tempting gelato shops. The town’s ancient Greek Theatre is another highlight, offering breathtaking views of Sicily, Mount Etna, and the Calabrian coast of Italy.
Nearby, Mount Etna offers guided hikes, vineyard tours, and volcanic wine tastings in historic cellars. The Godfather tour which takes you to film locations is also very popular.
The cost of staying in the Hotel San Domenico Palace is from €1500 but there are many more reasonable options nearby.
How to get to Sicily
Aer Lingus fly from Dublin to Catania from Dublin from 1st of May – the closest airport to Taormina. Ryanair fly to Palermo from Dublin from 1st March. ( 3 hours away )
2. Dubrovnik, Croatia: Location of Game of Thrones
Dubrovnik’s Old Town, which served as King’s Landing in Game of Thrones, remains one of the most striking and atmospheric film locations in Europe. I have just returned from a short trip there and absolutely loved it. October is an ideal time to visit, it was 18 degrees, sunny skies, and no crowds!
Long regarded as a jewel of the Adriatic, Dubrovnik has gained a new allure for Game of Thrones fans eager to step into the world of King’s Landing. A walk along the city’s ancient walls, though a costly €40 per person, offers magnificent views of terracotta rooftops and medieval towers where you can easily imagine the show’s dramatic scenes unfolding.
Many fans head to Fort Lovrijenac, which appeared as the Red Keep, and to the Jesuit Steps, featured in the famous “walk of shame” scene. You can join a guided set-jetting tour, explore independently, or simply wander at your own pace, the city is easy to navigate.
Beyond the Old Town, take the cable car up Mount Srđ for sweeping views of Dubrovnik and the Adriatic coast, or sail to the nearby Elaphiti Islands for a quieter and more relaxed glimpse of Croatia’s natural beauty

A variety of tours are available throughout the year. During the festive season, Christmas tours are offered at £100 per person, which include a complimentary cup of tea, a traditional mince pie, and entry to the Egyptian Exhibition. This exhibition tells the fascinating story of the discovery of Tutankhamun’s tomb in 1922 by the 5th Earl of Carnarvon and Howard Carter.

For those wishing to extend their visit, Highclere has two beautifully restored lodges on the estate where guests can stay. Reservations must be made well in advance, with a minimum stay of two nights required.

4. Paris, France: Location of Emily in Paris

Visiting Paris with Emily in Paris in mind adds a playful and romantic dimension to the city. The “Emily in Paris pilgrimage” takes visitors on a route through many of the show’s most recognisable locations, including a charming family bakery in the Latin Quarter that has doubled its pain au chocolat production to meet demand.
The main restaurant featured in the series, L’Esprit de Gigi, is in fact a real Italian bistro called Terra Nera, located in Montmartre. It has become a popular stop for fans eager to experience a taste of Emily’s Parisian life.
Of course no visit to Paris would be complete without seeing its iconic sights such as the Eiffel Tower, Louvre and the newly reopened Notre Dame Cathedral. Don’t miss the Arc de Triomphe at the top of the Champs-Élysées, one of the most famous shopping streets in the world, and if the weather is good, I suggest you book a boat trip on the Seine with dinner and drinks and enjoy the sunshine.

5. Skopelos Greece: Location of Mamma Mia!

The charming landscapes of Skopelos and Skiathos continue to attract musical-loving travellers seeking sunshine and joyful coastal life. The lush, green island of Skopelos in where where much of the film was shot. Picture pine-covered hills dropping into crystal-clear water, little chapels perched on cliffs, and hidden coves perfect for a lazy swim.
A must-visit is Agios Ioannis Chapel, the tiny white church on a dramatic rock that features in the wedding scene. Climb the steps for incredible views and that wonderful movie moment feeling. Spend time exploring Kastani Beach, where musical numbers played out along the sand, then wander the pretty lanes of Skopelos Town for traditional tavernas, boutique shops, and harbourfront evenings with fresh seafood and local wine.

6. Matera, Italy: Location of James Bond, No Time to Die
Matera might be an unknown destination for some of you, but believe me it needs to be on your bucket list. Some may have seen it in the opening scene of the new James Bond movie – No Time To Die, but it is even more impressive in person.
Matera is located about an hour’s drive from Bari in the southern tip of Italy, and Ryanair fly twice weekly from Dublin, making it an ideal destination for a short break. Many think it is located in Puglia, but it is actually located in Basilicata. However, both regions are next to each other so Matera can also be visited if you are holidaying in Puglia.
Matera is not just visually stunning, it has a remarkable story to go with it. It was home to the third oldest continually inhabited settlement in the world, and up to 70 years ago Matera was labelled the ‘shame of Italy’.
However, its transformation from rags to riches has been incredible. It became Europe’s capital of culture in 2019 and is now one of Europe’s most unique places to visit. You can read more about Matera and why I think your should visit in my blog post:

Travellers are increasingly heading to Wyoming and Montana to discover the landscapes that inspired the setting of the Dutton Ranch. The region offers a true taste of the American West, with vast national parks, scenic horseback trails, and authentic working ranches. Spanning primarily across Wyoming, with small sections in Montana and Idaho, Yellowstone was established in 1872 as the world’s first national park. It sits atop a massive supervolcano and boasts the planet’s greatest concentration of geothermal wonders. The park’s most famous attraction, the “Old Faithful” geyser, continues to captivate millions with its powerful and predictable eruptions.
Beyond its geothermal marvels, Yellowstone is a land of dramatic canyons, pristine forests, vast lakes, wildflower meadows, and cascading waterfalls. With more than 1,000 miles of hiking trails, it offers endless opportunities to experience one of nature’s most extraordinary landscapes.
The park’s other big draw is its wildlife, which includes bison herds, wolf packs, bald eagles and grizzly bears. Wildlife encounters can be had even from the confines of your vehicle. Buffalo, elk and bears all roam freely here and share the park’s road and trail system with visitors.
Unlike many of America’s national parks, most of Yellowstone’s landmark features are easily accessible from the roadside. A driving tour along the Grand Loop is ideal for those who want to experience the highlights in a day or two.
Yellowstone is also a fantastic winter destination with cross-country skiing, snowshoeing and snowmobiling drawing visitors in the chillier months.
The Western-style towns are also a must visit, with local saloons and rodeos. Cody in Wyoming is known as the rodeo capital of the world, and for being the home of Buffalo Bill. while Livingston Montana is a western style town featured in Yellowstone the series as the closest town to the Dutton Ranch.
Bozeman is the closest international airport to Yellowstone ( about 90 minutes away ) but visitors usually combine Yellowstone with time in Nevada or Colorado. Aer Lingus fly to Denver in the summer and Las Vegas in the winter and it would make a good combination with a road trip.

New York is home to the sets of countless movies and TV shows. From Sex and the City to Home Alone, When Harry Met Sally, to Marvel scenes and Mad Men.
The West Village is home to Carrie Bradshaw’s brownstone house and the famous Magnolia Bakery, while KATZ deli, where the famous scene in when Harry Met Sally too place, is actually one of my favourite places to enjoy the iconic New York pastrami sandwich!
Central Park and the Plaza Hotel have iconic scenes from Home Alone, visit the top of the Empire State Building for scenes in Sleepless in Seattle, an Affair to Remember and King Kong, while Fifth Avenue is home to Tiffanys ( Breakfast at Tiffany’s).
Grand Central Terminal features scenes from Mad Men and Gossip Girl, and the New York Public Library, well known from The Day After Tomorrow and Ghostbusters is also a must visit. For film history, finish in Times Square, where the dazzling neon signs appear in countless movies.

Koh Samui is one of the top islands in Thailand to visit and is blessed with stunning beaches and top class hotels.
