4. Lanzarote – Corona Mar Apartments, Self Catering from €459pp
Lanzarote is Ireland’s most popular destination for winter sun holidays. There are so many great resorts, and the old town of Puerto del Carmen is great for having a drink at one of the waterfront cafes as the sun sets over the harbour is a lovely way to end your day.
I found a great deal in the top-rated Corona apartments which are located within walking distance to the centre and the beach.

The Views Oasis in Madeira is situated right by the ocean in the peaceful little village of Caniço. You’ve got direct access to the promenade, and a pebbly beach is right on your doorstep. There are a few nice restaurants nearby and Funchal is only about 15 minutes away by bus, so it’s easy to explore.
The hotel keeps things simple with 2 bars and 2 restaurants to choose from. There’s also a lovely spa if you’re there for some downtime, and all the rooms come with balconies which are perfect for soaking up those sea views.
