All luxury breaks are priced on various dates for three-nights and include flights. I have chosen some of the best five star hotels for these short breaks, but there are cheaper options available. 1. Santorini, Greece: Flights & 5 Star Hotel from €620pp
Santorini is a bucket list destination for many, and with direct flights from Dublin with both Aer Lingus and Ryanair in 2026, there has never been a better time to visit. Witness one of the best sunsets in the world, try some amazing seafood and simply relax in a luxury hotel and take in the views!
For the true Santorini experience, I suggest staying in Oia or Imerovigli, (although best to avoid Oia in peak season). April is a good time to travel if you want to escape the crowds and avail of cheaper hotel and flight prices.
I found return flights from Friday morning to Monday evening from just €246. A three-night stay at the 5 Star Santorini Secret Suites & Spa in Oia, staying in a suite with breakfast, hot tub and caldera view is €831 per person. A senior suite with plunge pool at the 5 Star Cresanto Luxury Suites in Imerovigli is €374 per person including breakfast.

2. Positano, Italy: Flights & La Sirenuse Hotel, from €1646pp
If you are looking for short breaks for special occasions, then it is hard to beat the Amalfi Coast. You can literally take your pick from its wide selection of 5 star hotels in stunning locations.

However, if you really want to push the boat out, and spoil that special someone in your life, then it has to be Le Sirenuse in Positano – remember the hotel from the movie Only You? This iconic hotel is a landmark on the Amalfi Coast and is a superb choice if you are looking for the wow factor.
I found return flights from Dublin to Naples from €113 departing on the 19th of October. A three-night stay at Le Sirenuse is €1533 per person including breakfast.
3. Taghazout, Morocco: 5 Star, All Inclusive from €514pp

4. Ibiza: Flights & 5 Star Hotel from €472pp
Although known for its iconic club scene, Ibiza offers so much more. I highly recommend it for a luxury short break. Stay in the stunning beach resorts close to Ibiza town, such as Cala Llonga or Santa Eulalia.
I found return flights for €127 on the 25th of May. a three-night stay at the 5-Star Grand Hotel Palladium Santa Eulalia del Río is €345 including breakfast.

5. Cavtat, Croatia: Flights & Hotel Croatia from €259pp
Croatia is another super choice for luxury short breaks. As well as the medieval city of Dubrovnik, Croatia’s beautiful islands and pretty towns are a pleasure to explore. Cavtat is one of these pretty towns and is a place I would return to in a heartbeat.
Its location just 30 minutes from Dubrovnik and close to the Montenegro border make it a top choice for visitors who like to see as much as possible on their travels. However, Cavtat is an upmarket resort with great restaurants, shops and bars – you may find it difficult to leave.

6. Saint-Émilion, France: Flights & 5 Star Château, from €643pp
Combining wine tasting with a stay in a French Château is my idea of the perfect luxury short break. There are several wine tasting trails to choose from but the picturesque villages and charming Châteaux on the Bordeaux trail took my breath away.
We stayed near the UNESCO World Heritage village of Saint-Émilion many years ago and loved it. The home of Pomerol, Margaux, as well as countless lesser known vineyards, this region is a little piece of heaven.
I found return flights with Aer Lingus to Bordeaux from €134 on the 18th of May including 10kg luggage. To top off the perfect French getaway, you simply have to stay in a Château! The price for a three-night stay at Château Hôtel Grand Barrail is €509 per person.

7. Majorca: Flights & Gran Hotel Soller, from €359pp
Soller is one of Majorca’s prettiest towns and is a great choice for a luxury getaway. Located on Majorca’s stunning north west coast, close to the UNESCO World Heritage Serra de Tramuntana mountain range and the beautiful town of Valldemossa, this is most scenic part of Majorca.

Soller has a port town as well as a seaside resort, and you can take a historic tram between the two. I found flights and a three-night stay at the 5-Star Gran Hotel Soller & Spa from €359 in October.

8. Matera, Italy: Flights & Top 5 Star Hotel from €978pp
Matera is one of Europe’s most fascinating cities – it looks like something from a movie set! You may recall that this ancient city was the backdrop from the opening scene in James Bond’s No Time to Die. Hotels, shops and restaurants are built into caves and it offers a unique and romantic setting for a short break.

I found return flights from Dublin to Bari from €168 on the 12th of April. A three-night stay at this luxury hotel is €810 per person including breakfast. Trust me, if you are looking for a unique destination to mark a special occasion, this is it!
9. Algarve, Portugal: Flights & Wyndham Grand Algarve Hotel from €359pp
With daily flights from Dublin, Cork and Shannon and twice weekly flights from Knock airport, the Algarve is always popular for luxury breaks. There are many 5 star hotels to choose from but if you are looking for one of the best hotels in the Algarve, then it has to be the Wyndham Grand Algarve. Located close to the airport in the upmarket resort of Quinta do Lago, this is the ideal choice for a luxury short break.

10. Corfu, Greece: 5 Star All Inclusive Break from €614pp
If you want to experience a tropical all inclusive resort, without having to travel too far, then Dreams Corfu Resort & Spa is the place to go. It offers the same unlimited luxury experience that you will find at Dreams resorts in the Caribbean.
International premium branded drinks are part of the all inclusive arrangement, as well as a daily stocked mini bar, and you have unlimited gourmet a la carte dining options, without reservations.
There are two swimming pools, four restaurants, a wide range of sports activities, and an evening entertainment programme. Its location on the beach in Gouvia and just 500 metres from the resort centre, is idyllic too.
