The Cortijo Blanco’s white washed exterior has a villa style appearance, with pretty courtyards and plenty of family friendly facilities on site. There are three main swimming pools, two children’s pools, an outdoor play-zone, daytime entertainment programme, mini discos and a large open-air entertainment stage for evening shows.

Lanzarote is one of the most popular holiday destinations from Ireland, and I’ve found a deal in one of its most popular hotels! The Las Costas Hotel is located right on the beach, but also has a pool with stunning sea views.

The old fishing village of Alvor is one of my favourite resorts on the Algarve. The village is much more low key compared to the lively resorts of Albufeira and Praia da Rocha, and the beaches are superb here too.

I have stayed here many times and usually stay at Prainha, which is located right beside the sea and about 20 minutes from the marina and town centre. The Prainha Clube has one and two bedroom apartments which suit families of four or five.

There is no shortage of amenities to keep families occupied, with outdoor pools, kids pools,  playgrounds, bars, restaurants and tennis courts. These are all surrounded by fabulous, landscaped gardens ensuring it never feels busy or crowded.

The onsite waterpark with six waterslides will keep the kids happy all day, and its two large pools, evening entertainment and two-bedroom family rooms make it one of the most popular family resorts in Corfu.
