A beautiful coastal city renowned for terrific sightseeing and a great food scene, spend a long weekend in Lisbon and enjoy one of Europe’s best city breaks.
Lisbon is one Europe’s top city break destinations, and after my visit, I now know why! It has a beautiful old town – there are pastel-coloured buildings with terracotta rooftops as far as the eye can see. Lisbon is very easy to navigate too, and if you don’t fancy walking it, the fantastic old trams will bring you around all the highlights, ideal for a long weekend in Lisbon
The food scene is superb, and a visit to TimeOut Market is a must! I loved Lx Factory too, an eclectic mix of restaurants, bars and shops all in one great open space.
There is plenty to see in Lisbon itself, but if you want to travel, you can take the train to the coastal towns of Cascais or Estoril, or explore the UNESCO World Heritage City of Sintra, and its palaces, castles and museums.

Ryanair, Aer Lingus and TAP Air Portugal all offer daily flights to Lisbon from Ireland. There are many flights to choose from, and you can choose to fly out with one airline and home with another, depending on your preference of flight times. If you wish to stay longer or shorter, simply edit the dates on the links below.
I have chosen the popular Alfama Lounge Suites and Hotel Gat Rossio for those who want a cheap but central stay in the city, the price is just €227 or €234 per person for a three-night stay.
If you want a more luxurious hotel, the 4 Star LX Boutique Hotel is also centrally located in the centre of Lisbon and is rated as Excellent on TripAdvisor. Price for a three-night stay here is €281 per person.
For this deal, I have chosen direct flights from Dublin on Saturday 7th February with Aer Lingus and returning on Tuesday the 10th of Feburary, but dates and durations can be changed to suit your requirements.
